Get your checkout ready for the day
A point of sale system needs more than a power socket. Your tablet, terminal, receipt printer and internet connection all have a job to do. When one part isn’t talking to another, even a straightforward sale becomes frustrating.
Mobile Computer Geeks helps small businesses with POS installation, setup and troubleshooting. Tell us which provider and equipment you’re using so we can check compatibility and plan the work before your appointment.

Need a hand with your computer?
Our local Geeks come to you at home or work, or help remotely, across Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, Moreton Bay and Redland Bay. No surcharge for same-day, weekend or after-hours appointments, subject to availability. Instant confirmation when you book online.

What can a POS setup appointment include?
We’ll work through the setup your business needs, which can include:
- Connecting supported equipment to your wired network, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
- Pairing compatible tablets, terminals, barcode scanners, receipt printers and cash drawers.
- Running an agreed test transaction and checking the receipt and drawer response.
- Installing the POS app and signing in with your approved business account.
- Checking that the software can find the connected devices and use them correctly.
- Showing your team the everyday steps for starting up and using the equipment.
Help with your terminal and the equipment around it
Different POS systems and EFTPOS terminals support different accessories and connections. We’ll check the model details rather than assume an existing printer or cash drawer will work with a new terminal.
If the real problem is the connection behind the counter, we can also help with Wi-Fi and internet troubleshooting. We’ll look at equipment placement and practical connection options, especially where a busy shop layout makes wireless coverage difficult.
Support that looks at the whole setup
You shouldn’t have to work out which box is causing the problem before asking for help. We can look at the computer, tablet, printer and network together, then explain where the fault appears to be.
For problems with settlement, merchant approval or the payment service itself, your provider may need to step in. We’ll help distinguish those issues from local equipment problems. Ongoing small business IT support is also available for the rest of your workplace.
A little preparation makes setup easier
Before we visit, complete your provider’s account registration and any required merchant approval. Have your login, charged devices, power supplies and network details ready. Let us know about any missing accessories or equipment you haven’t bought yet.
If you’re choosing a new system, we can help you check the equipment requirements before you order. The scope, time and any extra hardware will depend on your setup, so we’ll discuss those details with you first.
